DISM Tool can delete the specified volume image from a .wim file that has multiple volume images. Please notice that this command deletes only the metadata entries and XML entries. It does not delete the stream data and does not optimize the .wim file. This command does not apply to virtual hard disk (VHD) files. To delete an image, please follow the steps, Step1: Select "Delete" page in DISM Tool dialog. Step2: Click "Browse" to select source WIM file, and then select an image index from the list. The selected image will be deleted from the WIM file. Below are other settings for deleting. You may change them if needed. Check Integrity: Detect and track WIM corruption. Click "Delete" to start deleting the selected image from the selected wim file. You will see a dialog showing the progress and get the deleting result message after the operation completes.
