Mount image file

A compact disc image file is an exact copy of compact disc. You can get the image file by copying the disc to file sector by sector. PowerISO supports all popular disc image formats. You can mount image file to a virtual drive, and access files within the image file. In such way, you needn't burn the image to a real disc.

PowerISO will integrate itself into windows explorer. With the shell context menu, you can mount image file to a virtual drive by a simple click. PowerISO will automatically detect and analyse the file formats before mount the image file.

  • Open "My Computer", and navigate to the folder containing the image file.

  • Right-click on the image file, the shell context menu will popup.

  • Select "Mount image to drive ..." from the shell context menu. The selected image file will be mounted to the virtual drive. In this example, the virtual drive letter is E:.

  • You can then access files within the image file from the virtual drive. In such case, the virtual drive is E:.
