Add driver to ISO file

If you want to add drivers to Windows installation iso files, usually you need unpack the WIM files in the installation ISO file first. For each image in the WIM file, you need mount the image, add drivers to the image, and unmount the image. After all images files have been processed, you can then write the new WIM files back to the ISO file. With PowerISO, you can do it easily.

To add driver to ISO file, please follow the steps,

  • Run PowerISO.

  • Choose "Tools > DISM Tool..." Menu.

  • PowerISO shows DISM Tool dialog. Click the page "Add driver".

  • The "Add driver" page will show.

Check the radio "Patch driver to image file", and enter the source Windows installation ISO file path name.

Specify a folder which contains the driver files or specify the driver inf file path name.

Check the other options if necessary.

  • Click "Add driver" button to start adding drivers to ISO file. PowerISO will try to find boot.wim and install.wim in Windows installation iso file, then add drivers to each image in the two wim files. 

  • After the operation completes successfully, you should receive a message, "Adding drivers completed successfully". The image files in the ISO file now have the drivers added.
