Convert iso file to zip

A Zip file is a compressed archive file which may contain one or more files and folders. Usually it uses DEFLATE  algorithm to compressed files in zip file. It is the most widely used archive format and is supported by lots of archive software and operating systems.

ISO file is an exact copy of the compact disc. It can be used to make a backup of compact disc or distribute operating system installation package or software on Internet. Converting iso file to zip format can get smaller file size and better compatibility. However, please notice that, some information, such as boot information, will lost after converted to zip format.

To convert iso file to zip archive, please follow the steps,

  • Run PowerISO.

  • Select the menu item, "Tools --> Convert file format...".

  • The "Convert file format" dialog will popup. Click "Browse source file" button.

  • The "Open file" dialog will popup. Select the iso file you want to convert, then click "Open" button.

  • Click the "Output file format" list, and select "Zip Archive" as the output format.

     

  • The output file will be in the same folder as the source file, and have the same file name, but the suffix name will be .zip. You may specify a different path name for the output file. You may also specify a password to protect the output zip file. 

    Click "OK" button to start conversion. 

  • PowerISO will start converting iso file to zip format. It will show the progress information when converting the file. 

  • After the iso file has been converted successfully, you should get the message "Converting file completed successfully".
